R2M Rockland Rides Bike Project

One thing I love about traveling and exploring new places is that I typically find some sort of inspiration, returning home with new ideas or a new way of thinking.  A little over two years ago, my husband, Rudy and I ventured to the National Association of Realtors Convention in New Orleans.  It was our first time visiting the city together.  We rented a cute little condo a few blocks away from the convention center, which was extremely convenient, especially considering we didn't rent a car.

Not renting a car when not in a walking town can be a bit of a pain unless you have alternative wheels.  We were fortunate enough to have 4 (two wheels each) in the form of two bicycles that were available at the condo for our use.  We biked everywhere and it was awesome!  We would jump on the bikes in the morning before the afternoon sessions and park outside of Cafe' Beignet for coffee (and beignets, of course).  We rode along side the Mississippi River, taking in the river views and sites along the way.  We were able to take in quite a bit of NOLA via cycling... and burn calories from all of the wonderful foods we ate while we were at it.

Inspired, I kept thinking, with the new office in Nyack it would be great to have bikes available for the use of visitors of the area.  I researched and found a company that was able to make custom bikes in our company colors.  I absolutely love the canary yellow bell and tires.  Several of them have baskets on the front for transporting the little gifts you find while venturing out.

We had some wonderful sponsors who assisted us in making Rockland Rides a reality (and they all have helmets!)  Image title

With a little notice (and a signed waiver), visitors of the Nyacks (and local residents) can borrow bikes from our Main Street location for up to 2 hours for free.  Bike up to Hook Mountain or down to the Piermont Pier... and maybe head over to the Filling Station in Palisades for a burger before heading back to Nyack!  Explore Rockland with our wheels and if you decide you want to stay... well, we are here to help when you are ready to move!

A big thank you to our Rockland Ride Sponsors...
